Pharmacy Software
Smart Pharmacy Software for stock, expiry, billing and sales tracking. Reduced expired stock loss by 80%. __Body:
Pharmacy Software Overview:
A retail pharmacy chain with 3 branches was losing money every month due to expired medicines and incorrect stock. Billing was manual, stock counting was done at month-end, and the owner had no idea which branch was performing best
Client Background:
A family-owned pharmacy business selling 2,000+ medicines across 3 branches in one city. The Challenges: Expired Stock Loss: Medicines expired on shelves because there was no expiry-alert system. Monthly loss was $80,000+.
Manual Billing: Billing was done on paper, causing long queues and calculation errors.
No Stock Visibility: The owner didn't know which branch had which medicine in stock.
No Sales Insights: No data on best-selling medicines, profit per product, or supplier performance.
Our Approach:
We designed a system that works like a fast supermarket POS — scan, bill, done — but with pharmacy-specific logic like batch, expiry, and supplier tracking.
The Solution:
A complete Pharmacy Management System with POS + Inventory + Branch Management.
Key Features in Detail: Smart Inventory: Every medicine is entered with a Batch Number, Expiry Date, and Supplier. The system automatically alerts 90, 60, and 30 days before expiry.
Barcode Billing: Scan and bill in under 10 seconds. Auto-discount, return, and reprint invoices.
Branch Management: The owner can see stock of all 3 branches from one dashboard and transfer stock between branches.
Supplier & Purchase Management: Track which supplier gave which stock, at what price, and when to reorder.
Low Stock Alert: When any medicine goes below the minimum level, the system alerts you to reorder.
Daily Sales & Profit Reports: Branch-wise sales, profit, top-selling medicines, and staff performance.
Technology Used:
Next.js, Node.js, MySQL, Barcode Scanner Integration. Results & Impact: Expired stock loss reduced by 80% — from $80,000 to $16,000 per month. Billing time reduced by 50%. Stock accuracy became 100%. Monthly profit increased by 32% due to better stock control. Owner now checks all branches from his phone. Conclusion:
For a pharmacy, stock is money. When stock is controlled, profit automatically grows.
